Yachts - Life In The Fast Sea

Yachts are luxurious boats which serve as a cruise ship and for other recreational activities. Rich people, specially known personalities have their own yachts which they use as a resting quarters or a place to stay for vacation. There are clubs and groups established for yacht owners where there are free services and other bonus features that they get from the group.

These luxurious boats are originally used as a vessel for exploring the unexplored places in some parts of the world. Years ago, yachts are not really luxurious and full of expensive features. It was used by explorers as a transportation to discover the undiscovered areas; there were only bunk beds and storage room for stuff. Moreover, it also has taken a big part in the wars from the past centuries. Yachts are used as warships which sent countless victories to many countries.

As time passed by and as the technological advancement of the society pushed through, the use of yachts as warships and as exploring vessels jumped to being luxurious boats. Wealthy people started to use it for traveling, and called it a “cruise”. They added more stuff inside it, and transformed the ship as a floating house where they can take a good rest or to celebrate some events.

Like any other transportation vehicles, it has different sizes. Three types of yachts are named as super yacht, cabin cruisers, and mega yachts. Super yachts are the large sized boats which measures over 197 feet or 69 meters. While the cabin cruisers are small sized boats that measures less than 39 feet or 12 meters. Then mega yachts are the medium sized measuring from 98 feet or 30 meters. Each of these has the limited number of people who can step on it to avoid accidents.

Since there are different sizes of yachts, classifications of boats are available also where each of it differs in purpose. Weekender, day cruiser, luxury, cruising, and sport fishing are the classifications of yachts. The weekender yachts are cabin cruisers which can accommodate 2-3 people for less than 3 days. As seen in its name, it is commonly used by people who plan to have a weekend overnight stay in the seas. The day cruiser unlike the weekenders has no available cabin for accommodation of people. It is most likely used by people who go in day trips and use yachts to go to their workplaces. Luxury yachts are the high class boats which are used by wealthy people to travel and stay on the seas for vacation. Sometimes, it has features such as GPS, radars, and computer controlled system for easier driving. Also, it has better accommodation which can hold parties for limited number of people. The cruising yachts are more likely similar to the luxury yachts, but the cruise can accommodate more and sometimes cruise are more public. While the sport fishing yachts are obviously used for fishing sports by enthusiasts who would like to catch exotic fishes found in the seas.

Most common material used for constructing yachts is aluminum, fiber glass, steel, and other hard metals that are water-proof. Materials used are based on the classification of the yacht. Moreover, yachts are used by different types of people who want to experience riding a boat and sleeping in the middle of the ocean. As long as you know how to stay in the safety zone, you can ride a yacht.
